RVTI - Certification# 207542
Anyone that has purchased a "Stick and Brick" home in the last few years has addressed the issue of whether to have a 3rd party "Home Inspector" evaluate the condition of a home before it is purchased. To "See" the real details of the home and report them to the potential buyer.
A buyer can then enter into the purchase knowing the full extent of the homes condition, or will have some real bargaining power during the negotiation process.
There is no difference with an RV, except the fact that RV's have Never gone through a full inspection the way most homes do during their construction. Then there are the used RV's and the hidden or unknown damage.
From pop-up units in the $1,000's to Motorhomes in the $100,000's. The need from an inspection prior to the purchase is highly recommended, whether for new or used units.
Essential inspection will be a basic safety inspection only.
This will include brakes (Lock-up Test Only), all chassis lights including brake, turn, and clearance lights, tires, axles, hitch, 4 or 7-pin power cord, the chassis battery, the suspension system, and the frame. For drivable units, it will also include fluid level checks.
(In addition, The Propane system will be subjected to 4 separate pressure tests to verify proper working pressures, a properly working regulator, and verifying no leaks in the system. Also, all Smoke, Carbon Monoxide, and Propane Detectors will be tested.)
This inspection generally takes 3 to 4 hours.
(A/C and Furnace can be added to this inspection at an additional cost of $150.)
All essential issues "PLUS" All Walls, Windows, Roof, Floor Systems, 120-volt, and 12-volt systems, and Both City and Internal Plumbing systems. It will also include all life safety devices such as smoke, propane, and CO Detectors.
In addition, one Fluid Sample is included in the Essential Plus(#) Inspection.
This inspection will NOT include the following: Any Appliances(Not Previously listed), Water-Heater(s), A/C, Furnace, Generators, Power Inverters, House Batteries, or Furniture.
This inspection generally takes 6 to 7 hours.
(A/C and Furnace can be added to this inspection at an additional cost of $150.)
All previous levels plus all appliances, furniture, Generator, and drive-train. In essence, this is a bumper-to-bumper inspection. Also, Two fluid samples are included in the premier(*) level Inspection.
This inspection generally takes 8 to 10 hours.
NOTE: These inspections are NOT associated with any State or local DMV-required inspection.
(#)The Essential Plus level inspection includes one Fluid Sample and Analysis Report.
(*)The Premier level inspection includes two Fluid Samples and Analysis Reports.
For a sample report
A Fluid Sample and Analysis can be conducted on engine oil, transmission fluid, engine coolant, generator oil, generator coolant, Aqua-hot heating system fluids, etc.
NOTE: The fluid sample Analysis Report may take up to a week to receive back from the Lab.
The Brakes will be tested using a "Lock-up Test Only" method. This will involve raising the tire and engaging the emergency break-away switch. The tires will NOT be removed for the inspection due to the need to re-torque the wheel lugs after 30 or 40 miles of towing/Driving.
The cost of the inspection will vary depending on the type of vehicle and the level of inspection you choose.
Regardless of the level of inspection you choose, the following services will be provided.
Each inspection will involve a through and detailed inspection on the items listed for the inspection level chosen.
A link will be emailed to you letting you access your report along with any video attachments or other files associated with your unit for a limited time. You will be able to copy the information for your own personal use.
The report will list each item inspected and the condition of the item. Any item receiving a "Less than Good" evaluation will include a description of the issue and a photo or video evidence.
For our own ethical assurances, any unit that we conduct an inspection on, will not be eligible for repair work from us. The only exception to this principle will be on matters of "Life Safety". Examples of that will be propane leaks, damaged traveling lights, wheel or axle damage, etc. NO appliances, or interior wiring after the panel. This is to insure in our minds that we are NOT identifying items on the report just to incur additional work.
We are a FULLY mobile repair service. It does limit our repairs to a small degree. We do not conduct large/Lengthy projects such as roof replacement, body repair, or other projects that would be more costly to our customers than at a full-service facility. We do provide general repair work on all aspects of the RVs and camper units.
General maintenance is the best defense you can have to reduce costly problems on your unit. We will provide the maintenance service for you as you need it, OR, we would be even happier to provide you with the knowledge and skills needed to perform your own maintenance and avoid future issues and costly repairs.

The primary guiding principle for us is to provide the type of inspection and repair or maintenance that we desire for our own RV.
After retiring from being a Building Inspector for over 30 years, my wife and I decided to travel the country and enjoy life. We simply do so by working our way from location to location.
Though we travel the nation, we are not a Nationwide company. We still have a home in Hickory, North Carolina, but most of the year we are on the road traveling from place to place, conducting inspections and minor RV repairs and Maintenance. Our current location can be found on the "Where are we today" page listed at the top of this page.
